Packing
Packing isn’t just a matter of putting things into boxes...
Packing of course forms only one element of the actual physical move and is integrated into other related activities. But in addition, packing needs some thought as to the type of materials which require relocation. Some items might require special lifting equipment or packaging in order to move it without damage. Boxes should be labelled as to their final destination, in terms of a detailed plan of the new premises.
It is useful to designate a removal person for each logical section of the company. In that way they will have a much better understanding of the ‘local’ issues and needs. They will also be able to work with our Project Manager to logically label each item for safe transfer. Correct and accurate labelling is critical to the successful outcome of the move itself.
There are a host of different ways to pack your office materials, crates, boxes etc. each has its own strength or weakness so consideration has to be given to what has to be moved.
Like other aspects it is critical to get this right. Our staff will ensure that your labelling convention fits the task; we will be available to answer any questions, which may arise if some of your staff are assisting in this process. Alternatively we can perform the complete labelling activity.
Labelling tends to be performed in a hierarchical manner.
For example: by person /floor/ department / desk etc. – this may vary dependent on the most appropriate structure for your organisation. This type of classification will ensure a smooth removal (as it is used to define when items should be loaded and therefore unloaded at the target premises).
