How do you ensure business continuity?
Once the initial idea of relocation is firmly in place many companies then move to the issue of continuity. This is continuity in terms of how do you ensure that the business is impacted as little as possible and client issues are handled in much the same way as occurs under normal circumstances. This smooth running of client accounts means that, wherever possible, sales, marketing and any production activities continue as before.
Besides the normal issues this raises there are some specific issues which can impact the business when a relocation process is underway. Ensuring that relevant infrastructures are in place in the new premises is paramount to a smooth exit from your present location; this will include not just computers but networks and telephony. The latter is also related to the increase in mobile staff and Internet usage.
