Broadband & internet connectivity

Business Continuity is an important issue, how do you ensure this takes place?

Internet / Broadband Connectivity

Many organisations utilise their fax or PDQ line for shared broadband connection and they decide in many cases that the preferred route forward would be to retain the same number. In principle this should work perfectly. If however, your broadband services are operating on a BT landline and you wish to retain your broadband on the existing fax line number, BT Wholesale has to discontinue your old line and set up a new one. This could take at least 5 days. A mismatch in timing might mean being without broadband for a number of days in your new offices. That is, it can take up to 5 days to disconnect and 5 days to reconnect to the new offices.

As with IT and Telecoms in general, Internet, Email, Messaging and Broadband specifically have become key resources for many organisations. As such it is essential that there is continuity of supply for these functions.
